A floating figure drifting under the surface of water. Peaceful and serene with darker blue holding the bottom of water pool. The lighter, reflective surface characterizes the water just under the surface.
The figure floats with weightlessness and calm. There is an air or fluidity surrounding her face and hair with bubbles and watercolor blossoms. Her arms and legs are weightless and her figure is abstracted in blues and turquoise. There is an outstretched arm to guide―while her legs are seen to be floating. She is peaceful and surrounded in her blue water world.

Floating in Blue

The floating figure in blue is a foreshortened perspective of a female swimmer. Her foot advances in the foreground and grounds us to her reality. She exists in a green, watery pool with her face obscured by the reflections of water. The surface reflections are deep with dark blues and purples. The legs and arms of the swimmer are blues and purples which contrast with the golden yellows of the pool. There is an abstraction to the swimmer that allows our eyes to mingle and flow over the rest of the painting.

Summer Reflections 夏日倒影

The figurative painting of two swimmers embraces a couple underwater seen from below the surface.
The painting largely consists of the shoulder of a male figure. The female figure faces the back of the male’s shoulder. We can see a portion of her face―mouth, chin, and nose. Her arm is punctuated by speckled light, creating beautiful shadows.
The palette is warm with Opera Rose pink and golden hues of Burnt Sienna. The
perspective of being underwater and close to the couple adds to the intimacy and personal space of the couple.

The Wildlife Warrior is seen from below the surface of water.
She is standing tall and strong. Her stance is confident and strength is obvious. Her hands on her hips signify her focus. Her gaze is directed towards the underwater surface. Her gaze also engages the viewer.
The colors are natural―soft greens and flesh tones. The figure under the water is accentuated by turquoise which deepen the value. The turquoise is repeated in her swimsuit, arms, and face.
There is fluidity to the paint which adds to the watery environment she is portrayed in.
