The Mountain 那山

Mountain Hehuan offers 5 of the 100 Peaks in Taiwan. Amidst the ever-changing weather, the clouds disrupt the peaceful mountain forests. The arrow bamboo and the Chinese Juniper make the only landmarks up in the mountains. The little pond reflects the heavenly light, as mountain mists swirl in waves rich in moisture, presenting a scenery beyond words. The memory flashed back after the artist had traveled to Mt. Hehuan. Every time Chang closed his eyes, he could feel the moisture directly on his face. The artist captures the feelings and thoughts on paper, producing a slice of his stream of consciousness.

合歡山有著五座百岳，氣候變化萬千，雲氣擾動平靜的山林，箭竹與圓柏是山上唯一的地標，小水池倒映天光，山嵐旋轉波濤、水氣繚繞，景色無法言語。作者遊歷合歡山後，記憶浮現眼前，每每閉上眼即能感受水氣撲面而來，作者把所感、所想記錄在紙上，完成一幅意識流切片下的產物。

Mindland 心原

Standing on top of the mountain, the artist felt deeply the dense moisture and mists around. Nature was affluent in vitality and mystery. After returning to Taipei, the marvelous picture hovered still in his mind. Chang thus determined to capture such mood with his brush. The magnificent Mt. Hehuan and the breath-taking scenery are presented in colors and strokes. This piece is loaded with emotions and profound meanings, exhibiting the artist’s heartfelt appreciation of the beauty in nature as well as the perpetual existence of that special moment dwelling in the mind of the artist.

站在山巔，深切體會濃密的水氣和雲霧包圍著自己，大自然充滿了生機和神秘。回到臺北後，那美麗的景象仍在心中盤旋，遂毅然決定用畫筆來捕捉這份情感。透過色彩和筆觸，呈現合歡山的壯觀與讓人屏息的美景。此作將充滿情感和深刻的意義，展現對自然之美的深刻感悟，以及那個特別的時刻在作者心中的永恆存在。

Peaceful Rest 平靜的休息

The vast grassland by the hotel presents an enticing landscape, luring one to a willful lying down. A breeze caresses the face, as if it wipes off the lassitude throughout the day, introducing a sense of refreshing comfort. The vessel in the image is like a break after drifting out at sea. Either in the immensity of nature or the torrent of society, we all meet with changes and challenges. Nevertheless, we can find the momentary tranquility and serenity in mind to reset our own bearings.

飯店旁的廣闊草原勾勒出一片誘人的景象，讓人不禁想恣意躺在其上，享受片刻的寧靜。微風輕撫過臉龐，彷彿拂去了一整天的疲憊，帶來一絲涼意和舒適。畫面中的船，就像在大海漂泊後的一段小歇。無論是在大自然的廣闊中還是社會的洪流中，我們都會面臨變化和挑戰，但也可以尋找到心中片刻的寧靜和平靜，重新調整自己的方向。

Home 鄉

2023 | Watercolor 水彩｜64 x 54 cm

“Recollection of Home” has been the fondest creative theme by the artist. The work employs the features of Yilan, including the rain and mountains as well as the Turtle Island therein, to present the natural beauty of Yilan and the memory of the artist for his hometown, through the fusion of colors, strokes, and emotions. The rain irrigates the earth; the mountains and streams undulate; and the Turtle Island carries stories of centuries on its back.

「原鄉記憶」一直是作者最深情的創作主題。此作品將宜蘭的獨特之處，包括宜蘭的雨、山，以及宜蘭的龜山島，透過色彩、筆觸和情感的交融，呈現宜蘭的自然之美與作者對故鄉的思念。雨水滋潤著大地，山川起伏，而龜山島則承載著數世紀的故事。
