Bruce Bobick

Bruce Bobick is a former professor and chairman of the Department of Art at the University of West Georgia. He earned an M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from the University of Notre Dame, and Masters and Bachelors degrees in Art Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
His work has been included in 231 juried exhibitions and 107 invitational exhibitions. In addition, Bobick has held 90 solo exhibitions. His work has won 82 awards, including the National Watercolor Society’s First Place Purchase Award and Silver Star in the 90th Annual Juried Exhibition in 2010.
He is a member of the National Watercolor Society in Los Angeles.
Bruce Bobick 曾任西喬治亞大學主任與敎授，擁有聖母大學繪畫藝術創作碩士學位、賓州印地安納大學取得藝術敎育學士及碩士學位。他的作品曾於231場評選展及107場邀請展中展出。此外，Bobick 亦擧辦過90場個展。榮獲美國全國水彩畫協會收藏獎第1名、2010年第90屆評選展銀星獎等共82座獎項肯定。他同時也是位於美國洛杉磯的全國水彩畫協會會員。

Silkworm is one of a group of my experimental works in which I use various additives, and apply the mixture to the paper without the use of a brush.

Bats and Beans: Feeding Frenzy
蝙蝠與豆子的狂饗曲

This painting is part of a series depicting the concept of the innocent bystander, or being in the wrong place at the wrong time. A previous painting shows one bean accidentally disturbing a hibernating bat. This painting shows the result: once one bat is awakened, they all awake, and start feeding on the defenseless beans.
本畫作為系列作品，描繪的是無辜的旁觀者，或是在錯的時間出現在錯的地方之概念。前一幅作品描繪一顆豆子無意間驚醒一隻沉睡的蝙蝠。這一幅則是其結果：吵醒一隻蝙蝠，便吵醒整群蝙蝠，開始獵食毫無抵抗之力的豆子。

This painting depicts an imaginary quilt or bed covering made by the grandmother of Hieronymus Bosch. The images which she has sewn onto the quilt penetrated the youngster’s subconscious mind, night after night, while he slept, and influenced his future paintings.
本畫作描繪由波希的祖母所製作的一張被褥或床單，祖母縫進被褥的影像，一夜復一夜地在少年沉睡時滲入他的潛意識，也影響了他未來的畫作。
