Thin Spring Clouds over the South Peak of Yushan
2020 | Watercolor on paper 水彩、紙 |101.5 x 153 cm
The profound textures of rocks in the foreground highlights the lavish green in the background. Betwixt the thin and thick, the subject and object, the loose and tense, and the light and dark, the color gamut, structures, and layers clear in rhythm are reconciled. The small flying birds subtly inserted in the right give prominence to the magnificent sublimity of the mountain view.
White Clouds Amidst the Black and Grey
2021 | Watercolor on Paper 水彩、紙|57 x 76 cm
With gouache, acrylic pigments, masking fluid, and wet washing as well as dry wiping, the saturation of hues is reduced to almost black, white, and grey only. The magnificent, resolute mountain rocks, in contrast while in complementary to the warm, airy clouds, make a captivating view altogether.
The Immense Snow Peak
2021 | Watercolor on Paper 水彩、紙|76 x 112 cm
The work is derived from a mountain of the Rocky Mountains in the North America topped with snow. It appears magnificent and immense with the contrast of the light and dark, whereby the awe of the insignificant humanity in the face of the magnificent nature is fully demonstrated.
